Re: CBs (help)
Hi Osman. You asked:

I don't ever piggy back any of the aftermarket consumers to the existing fuses
with those crappy brass tabs that Radio Shock sells. You don't have to go through
the firewall either.
Drop the bottom piece of you dash (six 8mm screws) and/or the bottom portion of
the steering column (two long phillips screws) and you will gain access to a
gazillion power (constant or switchable) and ground (solid brown) wires.
Just don't forget to intall fuses with EVERY power line that you are TEEing into
the existing ones.
You might want to use the under dash pocket for the CB itself. This is where I
have installed mine. Very discreet yet handy. One drawback: the existing CB
speaker will be firing directly down into the plastic shelf itself. That's why I
have rewired the CB circuitry and installed two switch/jack combos in it. Now I
can send the sound to: a)existing CB speaker b)the car's LF speaker c)earphone
when my wife is asleep or when truckers start to abuse the language beyond
reasonable decency.

It's OK for now. I am really hoping to convince you to copy my antenna setup once
I get you to see it (If I would ever make it to the Kan-Run:-(!). It lookes
elegant and workes great. Also, you don't have to worry about scratching the paint
on the trunk lead or running the cable from the outside. And it is absolutely
deceiving, no one would ever guess that it is a CB antenna. Why don't you wire it
temporarily (w/a cigarette lighter plug or smthn') for the run and we'll talk
about it in 10 days in NH?
Hope to see you there
