Welcome to the Audi world.  Lesson one:  Forget the car - treat the engine.

Your engine has a two-character code and a serial number - mine is MB001421.

That's how we work here - ignore the vehicle model and designation, and post us 
the engine code and number.  Someone, somewhere will have the same engine - 
perhaps in a different car. Audi changed from a two-filter to a one-filter 
system on the turbo engines, and also introduced refinements like water cooling 
of the turbo, etc., successively in the late 1980s.
