A couple of weeks ago, I was out looking at snow tires and while I was
having the Hakkas installed, I asked to see the Dunlop D60A2s as a
consideration for next spring. I was given all the propaganda as the
installer had been to the Dunlop track somewhere in the States (I'm in
Ontario). I noticed that the tire has a very soft sidewall, not the entire
sidewall, just a section of it equidistant from the rim. It is quite
noticeable when the tire is uninflated. Apparently, according to the
installer, this was to to give more sidewall flex. I remember thinking that
*I* could damage that quite quickly in my neck of the woods.
So now I'm curious... was the damage within this soft section OR in the
harder rubber part of the sidewall OR where the two rubbers join?
