RE: Engine design

Can anyone give a clear explanation of what happens when the timing
belt breaks on an interference type engine. Also what are the
advantages of this engine design?

Thanks
Bill

Sure! The cam stops turning and the valves stop opening & closing, meanwhile the crank keeps spining and the pistions keep pissin..... going up and down. When a piston goes up in a cylinder with an open valve - KerUnch! The piston and the valve both try to occupy the same space at the same time and sumptin hastah give - the valve bends and will never close/seal again - trashed engine/head/valves. You can also damage the pistons as well, I seem em, BTDTBNTME.
