Not to mention American men and yachts. You can get a mortgage on a large yacht at a better interest rate Vs a home! Yacht mortgages are rarely defaulted upon. 

Scenario:
Man looses job. Vacation home goes. Second car goes. Home goes. Primary car goes. Next the wife and kids go. THE VERY LAST payment missed is the yacht payment. Priorities.....
