When it cuts out, does it cut out completely or just cuts out one or two 
cylinders ?
The reason I ask is that I had a problem with My 1986 Ur Quattro when You 
got to
4>4500 RPM one ore two cylinders cut out, this was actually a "Safety" 
measure
as the ECU thought the Engine had a problem, in My case this was Due to a 
Faulty
Charge Air Sensor, though I believe the same "Safety" measure cuts in if 
the ECU 
thinks the Turbo is Over Boosting !
