There are several possible explanations: The dealer wanted to take
advantage of an incentive program that ended on 5/31.  That was the case
when I bought my 100CSQW in 10/92.  The salesperson wanted to bump
his/her monthly or quarterly quota for some reason.  If any portion of
your sale was financed, it might have been to your benefit to do the
deal on 5/31, or to the benefit of the dealer, finance company or
middleman.  Finally, the dealer may be doing something unethical if not
illegal.  Let us know what you find out. . .
