     Check the relay again. It's a longshot, but was talking with
     the parts guy at an Audi Dealer, and he told me that the
     symptoms you describe sometimes occurs when the incorrect
     relay is used. He told me that there is another Audi relay
     which often gets mixed up with the correct relay. They are
     identical in appearance, and the part numbers are identical
     except for a letter after the part number or somewhere on the
     relay.
