A4 Wiring to battery?

The weekend's over, and my car's in more pieces than ever.  Now I understand
why you guys all own multiple cars - one to play with and the other to drive!

How can I run wiring from the interior of my 96 A4Q to the battery?  I need
to hook up an amp that needs a direct connection - I have confirmed this by
blowing a fuse. :)  There's a grommet right by the battery, but it ends up
behind the glove box, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get
any passenger-side dash pieces apart.  

Anyone have ideas?
