Problems w/ 90Q20v Bilge Pump

Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if anybody else has had the problem I had this morning.
When I went out to my car this AM I turned the key to the "on" position
and flipped the bilge pump switch that is located just in front of the
rear diff lock switch on the center console. First I heard a slight
grinding noise and some water appeared to be blowing out the port fender
exhaust (BTW, I have installed custom port holes from an old Buick
Roadmaster) but nothing came out the starboard side. I turned the switch
off and tried to restart....then nothing.
I thought that this might be a vacuum leak problem so I got out the
propane torch, WD40, and carb cleaner to do some detective work. I have
disconnected, played with and re-connected everything I can think of, but
can't find a leak. Of course, I have checked the fuses and relays and
they seem to be alright. I must have hit on something though because
when I flick the switch now the bilge is spewing water and oil out the
starboard side. After a few minutes use though, the bilge pump appears
to be laboring and sounds like a fuel pump on its way out. I'm thinking
that I may have injured the "bomb" (which of course everyone knows is an
integral part of the "rack and bilge" system specific to this car) while
I was installing my new Hack and Lolitas.
Any help with this diagnosis would be appreciated.

PS: Had anybody has any luck installing the European spec. bow rails
       and lights?
