Audi used cars - 3rd place
I can attest to this. I bought my "previously-owned" (not "used"!!) Audi at
a dealer, and have been very happy with the car. Best car I've ever owned
(so far... until I get an S4/S6 and a 911!!).
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Used-car buyers rate Saturn as the most
satisfying dealer for two- to four-year-old cars, a market researcher
reported Monday.
The J.D. Power and Associates 1996 Used Vehicle Sales Satisfaction
Study found Lexus was rated second, followed by a tie for third among
Audi, Cadillac and Lincoln/Mercury. Porsche finished sixth, followed by
Buick, Eagle and Oldsmobile in a tie for seventh. BMW and Plymouth tied
for 10th.
``Saturn's top ranking reveals the ability of their salespeople to
translate the 'Saturn experience' to the used vehicle operation,'' said
Loretta Seymour, director of client accounts at J.D. Power. She said the
survey shows that salespeople at Saturn, a subsidiary of General Motors,
are spending time with the buyer to explain the vehicle and understand
their needs.
The survey also found that independent used car dealerships provide
used vehicle buyers a more satisfying sales experience than the average
new vehicle retailer.
``It may appear somewhat surprising that independent used vehicle
retailers provide a more satisfying sales experience than new vehicle
franchises,'' Seymour said. ``Many independent used vehicle retailers
are adopting a less pressured sales environment that consumers
responding to the study appear to find satisfying.''
``Success for new vehicle dealers in the growing used vehicle market
will require a greater focus on the used vehicle sales experience.''
