You do not necessarily need to make any sockets or use an impact driver
(the hammer kind, no air) although this method will work. Use a punch or a
chisel and turn the cap by hitting the punch or chisel which should be put
on outer edge, be careful. Works like a charm (done it many times!).
To tighten the caps use a VERY large screwdriver or a wood chisel acting as
a screwdriver, you can also reverse the above method to finally tighten the
caps.
