Re: CQ door seal leaks/(also request for S4 help!)

Eric, I hope you didn't mind that I cc'd this to the list, as it might help
other coupeQ owners with leaks...

In a message dated 96-10-22 10:31:23 EDT, Eric writes:

Just to let all the CoupeQ owners know, the problem that I Have encountered
with leaks is *exactly* as Eric has described in his e-mail! It has happened
on both windows, driver's and passenger's sides.

What you do is:

Spray *a lot* of liquid silicone into the rubber and felt portions of the
door strip, also making sure that the rubber is completely saturated...do it
in 15 minute intervals...until the rubber doesn't suck up any more
silicone...

After a few days, the rubber will expand a bit, and hopefully your leak will
be gone! You also might want to do all the other rubber weatherstripping
around the car, taking care not to spray the paint...I really don't know what
effect it might have, but it pays to be careful!

Good luck everyone!

PS: Can some more people give me any more suggestions on the S4 a/c system
water leak? (into the footwells) I wish a Bentley was available, but I would
have to spring for $ 375 for the shop manual if I wanted any kind of helpful
documentation!
