Re: audi to withdraw from motorsport?

This weeks "MSA" contains an article about Audi 
and their future motorsport activities.
Dr.Ullrich (Audi motorsport director) doesn't 
make any final statements about 1997 but he mentions
that even if Audi decides that they can't race 
with the possibly increased basic weight for 4X4 cars , 
they sure will be back in 1998 with a front wheel
driven A4.
He also says that the main reason for the great 
success of AudiSport is their reliability. Emanuelle
Pirro for example is racing for Audi for three years
now and had only one DNF. This DNF was caused by a 
start accident at the 1994 Salzburg race.  
The Audi gods are really with AudiSport.
BTW, Audi is starting the front wheel drive development
already. In two weeks time ,at the Spanish Touring Car 
Championship ,Audi will compete with two A4's with the
rear driveshafts removed.
