Re: Importing used Euro cars

My dad was heavy into the "Gray Market" back in the mid 80's, this involved
him going to germany, buy 3 or 4 used porsches, bringing them back and making
a 1000-2000 dollar profit on each after expenses. It was great having such a
collection of beautiful cars in my driveway.

Back to the question, Yes, it can be done, i don't know what the rules are
for emissions these days, back then, my dad slapped on a cat, US headlights,
then passed customs. then he would put the Euro lights right back on!
Porsche fans would pay a good amount of $ for one that had Euro lights,
german writing all over it and the smoother non-US bumpers (so would most of
us on the list).
