DON'T!! You can find MUCH better stereo parts for less money and build
your own system. It's NOT hard to equal or surpass the Bose system
Ditto everything Al said about Bose. They have created a recognizable brand
name that is sneered at by almost anyone who knows much about audio. None
of their stuff sounds "awful" but *none* of it is particularly good.
AAAaaaarghh - so this is what Nomex is for. I always thought is was just
for voice coil formers.
Anyway, there's a good Bose FAQ out there at http://cernan.ecn.purdue.
edu/%7Ebusenitz/bs.html if you want to see why people who know get
frustrated when other people buy into the "Bose mystique"
Put a good aftermarket system in your car with high quality drivers mounted
in sturdy (3/4" plywood) baffles and you'll have sound better then Bose'
*home* systems!
Just had to spew my $00.00002....
