I don't remember the URL but the NHTSA has an awesome web site with model by
model listings of all of these.  Hope you can find it.  I found out about
from this list ...

No one actually suggested "splitting the list" what *was* suggested was that
the US members of the UK Q club be contacted re:club business via private ie
non QG (this list) mail.  No one said any one was not welcome here.  Dan
simply objected to the conducting of another organisation's business on his
list... and then the thread refused to die, twitching and writhing in the
mire of rumour and innuendo.

 I read some SF story once (One Hand Clapping?) about a culture where
everyone was reduced to the ability of the least capable... I am a liberal
left wing socialist righteous son-of-a-gun, but to quote D.H. Lawrence - 
(loosely) "Sure I want the other fellow to get his share of the world's gear
.  So he will leave me alone with his importunity and get out of my way." 
or something like that.  Let the Best be the Best with no asterisks.  This
is how new sanctioning bodies get started - the old ones ossify, calcify,
and eventually fossilize while the new ones are born fresh and full of
validity...
