Mebbee I'm wrong but....

I personally use the fog lamps for.... fog lamps.  I personally do not
want more power or distance.  Here in the snow belt, during a total
whiteout the headlights are useless.  The Audi stock fogs work great in
these situations, just as they do for "pea soup".  More power or
distance would only put me back into blindness.  (I do agree that your
objective, ie driving lights would be helpful since the Audi headlights
are underpowered in the first place; wont sacrifice the fogs for this
purpose, tho)
