I'd say it was more of a "random" function.  But anyway...

The button on the far right of the radio with the "RD" label has the sole
function of enabling random play on the currently installed disc on the Audi
CD changer.  Random play is confined to one disc, as opposed to some other
changers which will play random (on a single disc) and shuffle (between
discs).

This may also put to rest an unasked question from other owners of late-model
Audis with the new Delta radio.  (that question being, "What does the RD
button on my radio do?")
