Fog Lamps and headlights
In Canada, we have daytime running lights... the headlights stay on (Audi
uses low beam) if the car is running, with a diode voltage drop (0.7V) less
going to them, than when they are turned on by the driver.
Trouble is that most other cars, especially domestic, have all figured out
that when you run the engine with the parking brake on, you are in a
drive-in theatre trying to stay warm..... Audi hasn't allowed for this, much
to the annoyance of other movie goers and the bright white screen (what is
worse, is people who have this feature and DON'T USE IT... arghhh)....
rewiring suggestions welcome!
Just to balance things... GM also isn't the smartest.... HIGH BEAM daytime
driving lights that are dangerous at night when the driver likes to drive
around without illuminating their dashboard! (ie. Geez, Martha, why is
everyone flashing me and giving me the finger? They must be jealous about
my brand new Jimmy)
