For those Electronics Wizards....
I have a number of electronic gadgets that I run from my 1993 100QCS....
VHF/UHF two way radios, hand's free cellular, Koolatron cooler (camping
trips), and I'd still like to add GPS!
It would be really great if I could make use of the little LCD display in
the dashboard. The radio (Audi/Bose) sends radio station data to the car's
computer via a serial clock/data connection. Before I start analyzing this
connection with a 'scope to figure our bit rate, sychronization, etc, is
there anyone out there who has experience or btdt? In the least, I'd like
to display car voltage/amps info. A PIC processor chip can be programmed
for the interface.
Alternatively, an aftermarket VOLT/AMP guage to replace one of the two
temperature guages would also work, if it isn't next to impossible to
replace. Is there such a combined guage?
Other reverse engineering in progress... analyzing the infra red central
locking system to see if it is easy to duplicate, and look for other
imbedded functions ......add a strobe to the vacant right side rear fog
light, so that people one is trying to signal don't think that a brake light
bulb is burn't out.....
