multi-function switch

Saw a note on the list about taking apart and fixing the multi-function
switch (3 or 4 terminals, runs temp gauge & two other functions) on front of
engine (5000S) above thermostat housing.

I'd like to take one apart and see if I can fix it - obviously, I don't want
to do mine, because it is currently (no pun intended) doing a fine job of
keeping the coolant in the engine (and very little else, thank you) - if I
destroy mine in order to save it (sound familiar?), I can't drive the car . . .

Anyone got a defective one laying around they want to mail me so I can open
it up and (hopefully) post the resultant repair procedure in the archives?
