Re: '82 tqc info
Eric,
The fact that it may have been a pre import would have less to do with
it's value than its current shape and repair history, also some early cars
do not have all of the later options, ie., sunroof, leather and rear wiper.
This would make the car worth less rather than more to me. Also, TQCs are
not known for blowing gaskets, rather they are known for being almost
bulletproof internally. If it overboosted or heated up badly enough to nead
a head gasket, I would want to know what caused it and had that been fixed
as well. For the asking price, 14K, the car should be near mint. I bought
a low mileage TQ and sometimes disuse can be as expensive to fix as mis/over
use BTDT (especially check calipers and rotors and cables for proper
operation/seizure). If your not familiar with what to look for, don't be
afraid to bring along someone who is, it will pay in the end. The list
archives and QClub quarterly have a few cars in the range 6K-9K that your
looking for.
Good Luck
