The dealer from whom I bought the 6199 claimed the above. I found teh
detector to be completely useless, remaining absolutely silent in all but
teh most obvious radar traps. I did a back-to-back test (in a pair of
5KCSTQs BTW) from Chicago to FLint, and the old BEL performed admirably,
while the new Uniden was mute all the way home. I sent it back. For
more detail check out the archives from a few months ago or email me
privately for details. I'll never again buy a Uniden. The owner and
driver of the other 5KCSTQ in the Chicago-Flint test bought a Valentine 1
BTW, and loves it!
