RE: SEAT HEATER SWITCHES (AGAIN)

Well, as you might have gathered, I have been in search of a control
switch for the heated seats on my 1990 Coupe Quattro. Called
several of the "recyclers" in "Euro car" without lick; finally decided to
try some dealers. This is what I found:

Carlsen $66.00
Hoehn $50.65
Blaufergnugen $63.00

When I called Carlsen I was on hold for 15 minutes; with the other two
companies I got right through to the parts counter - no hassles. As far
as I am concerned, Carlsen is overrated - wait is abominable (you folks
might have time to wait on line; I have to call from work) and by above
prices are NOT the best.

Have dealt with Hoehn many times in the past; have had no problems with
them. They're out in California, too; no. is 1-800-984-6346.

I didn't order this time; was still looking for a "preowned" switch.
 Somebody
on this list graciously offered one for $20; I'll be taking him up on his
offer.

Thanks for your help and editorial comments on my switch disassembly
procedure.

NOW; has anybody taken apart one of the power window switches to replace
the bulb? This one has defied my best efforts.
