I just noticed a leak on the right side of the trunk area in my CQ. Water
accumulates below the plastic storage bin (CQ only) where the drain is (not
sure if sedan has this drain). I tested with a hose to find the source.
It seems the water is coming in around the interior to exterior air exchange
(or whatever you call that thing). I think there is one of these on each
side of the trunk area. This device is mounted behind the side portion of
the bumper cover on the CQ. The one on the right is below and slightly
behind the fuel door. You should be able to access from inside by removing
the trunk lining.
I may try to seal around this thing with silicone, but is pretty hard to get
to in the CQ. So far I haven't noticed a lot of water and there is a drain.
I wonder if the drain is there for this very reason or is it there in case
of a fuel leak? HTH
