All the 80's vintage oooo's I've had use a pair of release levers
conveniently hidden behind the headlights (toward the inner side of each
light) which are normally pulled toward the center of the car when the cable
is pulled. They are independent, you release one, then the other. It can
take some wriggling and coaxing to grab them - with a coat hanger,
fireplace poker, whatever you use. It has sometimes been easier throught
the hole where the side marker light is) if you can get the side light out.
The cables are cheap & easy to install, which is a joke on all of us who
ever rigged nifty "aftermarket" ways to release the hood (bonnet) of our
fancy imported automobiles. PAP in USA charged me about $15.00 I think, and
I had them toss in a bunch of used fittings (sometimes the golf tee like
sleeves for the cable start to disintegrate) You just pull out the old
cable and pull the new cable through the sheath. One end will have a clamp
of some sort depending on the model. Usually the end at the right side of
the hood. The release lever end will have a molded on device to lock it
into the release mechanism.
good luck
