I forget the issue but within the last two months or so they had a 1 page 
article on the new 'Passat'.  Five different engine choices, including two 
diesel, and the 30 valve 2.8.  Quattro was going to be available with the 
30 valve.

Sorry I don't remember the exact issue.

an A4 1.8T Quattro may be in the future.
