FW: THERMO TIME SWITCH
Quattro experts,
For the last month I have been trying to get the TT switch to work in
my 85 4KQ.
To complicate things the instructions given from Bentley have the TT
switch located on the radiator hose flange going into the front of the
engine...I was tipped of that the TT switch is on the rear of the head
in-between the engine and the firewall....and it sure looks like the
correct sensor based on the number of wires (3) and the colors going to
it. My problem now is that I am not getting any voltage to the TT
switch or the cold start valve when I crank the motor over. (I think
the same hot wire goes to both parts...with the ground connection from
the cold start valve coming over to the TT switch as the second
connection on the TT switch)
Can anyone give me some suggestion as to where I should look next?
Can I just set up a hot wire to the two units and control it from
inside the car with an on off switch?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
