Scott can verify, but my ECU was one of the first ones he did (for an 87, at
least). Overboost mod only - moved to 1.95. First thing I found on the
install was continued overboost shutdown - problem was a bad hose on bottom
of wastegate that was allowing god knows how much boost - probly contributed
to my first turbo failure, along with a leaky intercooler. Never knew of the
problem with the old bypass deal, since the transducer maxes at 1.9...
Now fixed, with Charlie spring I max at 1.8, which is plenty for now. This
is definitely the low bucks way to go...
Very professional install of chipholder, old chip returned, 8 days both ways
with Mr. Postman. I'm certain he would have a heart attack if he saw me
replace the wheat bulbs in the LCD display of my Toshiba stereo (fer the
parts chaser Caravan) tonight with a Weller soldering gun! I may not be an
ET, but I'm a hell on wheels electrician!
