Re: how quick
In a note dated Nov. 23, 1996 Major Schutt asks:

Yes...I gave up my last 911S when I traded it for my (gone and lamented) 87
5kcstqw which out everything'ed (accel. handling, and braking) the old beast.
>He says he has about 285 hp.
Uh...maybe, but doubt it. Partly depends on what "Euro" really means. 285hp
would have been more like a '78 Turbo Carrera not a SC...
>Any body know how fast that old 911 should be?
U.S. 3.0L. 911SC's were about 185 hp. and I think "Euro" were around 200.
That car should be about the same as your 200 20v q stock...after mods I'm
not at all surprised your q is quicker...and it has no trailing throttle
oversteer like the 911 (which some may call not as fun...nomex on with that
one!), and once your new brakes are bedded in I'm sure it will be stopping
better than the old SC too...
Nomex content: no attack on P cars intended...I still love 'em! Have owned
several and if it weren't that I'd prolly never been properly exposed to
quattros (aside from the obvious rally domination in the 80's) since my then
P car mechanic buddy was also a q fanatic and turned me on to 'em...been
hooked ever since!
