the haynes is likely referring to the weight of the euro version, which doesn't
include 5mph bumpers, maybe some other safety-related weight (such as door
beams), probly doesn't include a/c, etc.
the difference between 4k and 4kq can be explained by an extra cylinder,
heavier tranny, center and rear diffs, drive shaft, rear axles, heavier
rear struts, subframe, etc, higher capacity fuel tank (did i miss anything?)
the 4k and 4kq look nearly the same but feel completely different from the
driver's seat!
