I replaced the front control arm bushings on my 86 4KcdQ, at about 100K
miles, because it was behaving the way you describe... that new and
miserable little annoying vibration in a car that has been so solid for so
long..anyhow, the mechanic who had worked on Audi's all his life, in the USA
and Europe, said "This is a very common problem in Audi's, and it is easy o
fix. Just knock out the old bushings and put in some new ones." So I did and
it was and 50K later it is still solid. Thats my experience.
