I to have used both the steel unit and the aluminum Ital pumps.
Stay with the German Steel ones. They will last "twice" as long as
the Ital ones!!! BTDT. 

 I have a German pump with 10 years service, and still going!

 Had an Ital pump "go south" on a friends car in AZ only after 2 
summers!!! Plus he reports it was considerably more "noisy"

Stay German!!!  May cost more, but worth it!!
