This works with some fuel injected beasts, prolly not all. I've had it work
on my 83 Coupe.
Mid eighties fuel injected Chevy's were notorious for flooding on startup if
you even thought about touching the gas pedal so Chevy programmed it in to
clear the flood the old fashioned way as well.
Sometimes it even worked.

Not sure if Bosch included this in their systems or not. They usually don't
flood even if you open the throttle slightly.
As someone said, pull the fuel pump fuse to be sure.
