Hella H4 conversion

Dear All

I have been thinking of changing the sealed beam headlights on my 81 coupe
for Hella H4's as the sealed  beam units are terrible.

I believe that the H4's are a direct replacement for the sealed units and
give much better light - any comments regarding this ? 

Also, I have been quoted $50 apiece for the units - is this reasonable or
anyone got a cheaper source ?
