Bose/Blaupunkt/Audi Delta II Volume Knob Removal?

Anyone know the trick to removing the volume knob on the above stereo?  I have to 
replace the multifunction potentiometer-switch and have figured out all the hard stuff, 
but I cannot get the knob off.  If I destroy it, does anyone have a spare?
