Desperately Needed Auto Feature (no audi content)

Greetings,

After driving around at night with my side view mirrors tilted down, I've
realized a feature necessary for automobiles; Especially since headlights
seem to be getting brighter and brighter each year. I'm tired of either
sacrificing the use of my mirrors, or being blinded by traffic behind me.
What's the use of using red dash illumination when you have bright white
light hitting your eyes from the mirrors?

Car makers (Audi?) need to make the side view mirrors out of a material that
automatically dims at night. Any thoughts? Is there anything like this on
the market beside the electronic dimming rear view mirrors I've seen in the
new Cadillacs?
