4kq suspension Q

Hi, a quick question: I'm having the control arm bushings and front/rear
tie rods replaced because my Q is handling like a log. The guy who's doing 
it says that the shot bushings are pretty common, anything else I should
check/do (new boge gas turbos already)? I've talked to a few people about
springs, can't really afford it right now, also don't want to lower this
car because it's pretty much a sports tank and I like that. If it were an
inch lower it would tend to get a lot more involved with stuff under it,
no? Also, my mech. says he's done this on his own audis, $300. Sound about
right? Thanks, drive to drive.
