Radio Security
The new(ish) european Blaupunkts have a removable keycard -- kind of like the
european phone cards. A small micro chip is embedded in the card. A bright
orange flashing tongue sticks out when the card is removed. You take the card
with you instead of a faceplate or whole unit. Now, if someone steals your
wallet and your radio.....
The card also doubles as an "initial conditions" code. Each radio comes with
two cards that will work. The radio recognizes which card is inserted and will
tune the unit accordingly: CD or radio or frequency, turn on volume,
bass/treble settings, etc.
