A refinement perhaps on the breathers and seals.  It's easier to set up the CO 
values with the breathers connected, and then see if they change when the 
engine is run with the breathers disconnected from the air mass sensor plenum 
and plugged. That can give a very quick indication of air leaks large enough to 
cause problems.

In my case, the rear crankshaft seal _was_ causing significant leakage.  
Mileage may be an issue.

Otherwise - any objections if we steal it (with appropriate attributions, 
natch) for the UK Club Newsletter?  Who knows - it might encourage more folks 
to come online.

One final question.  The MB engine uses the MAC12 ECU.  Is this used on any 
other vehicles?  Has anyone dropped the maps out and understood them?
