Transmission whine

My 86 5kcstq (183k) has developed a whine in the tranny that increases
if I push down on shifter. It lessens if I take my hand off it. Tranny
was just refilled. Wondering about the throwout bearing or the syncros.
Any one had a similar problem? How about reman tranny price from someone
who's had this done. This is not the original clutch so I assume the
throw out bearing was replaced. Could a worn clutch cause this problem?
