Now, now...let's not get hastey! The bottom line: What did I buy? An
Audi. Why? The Quattro system. I own an older Audi (83 4000s) and it has
been a good car, but I looked for about 3 months before deciding on the A4Q.
I looked at the BMW's: the 3 series did not even come into reconing, with
the exception of the M3. The only 5 series I looked at was a 95 540i with
the 6-speed manual tranny and only 5000 miles on it. It was discounted from
$54k to $37k, which made it pretty damn attractive. I looked at the
Volvo's, but I simply liked the A4**Q** better. Don't like the styling of
the new Saabs. Looked at a Volkswagon GTI VR6. 172 hp in a Rabbit/Golf
styled body. A little screamer, but I preferred the Audi to the little VW
box. Considered the Mercedes C-Class...for about 2 minutes.... The list
goes on.

What do I own? 2 Audis, one of which is a Q. As a matter of fact, I'm not
even sure that the Q had been introduced in 83. With this purchase, I
wanted a sport sedan with extreme sure-footedness. I got it. If the Q did
not exist, I don't think there would have been a clear-cut winner.

By the way, Dave, any room for a PhD chemical engineer up there at Texo? (or
did I already ask you that?) Someone needs a job!
