DIN electrical coding scheme

Greetings to all..be happy, be healthy, be safe...

I have a question regarding the DIN standards that must exist for
automotive electrical standards, and more specifically the coding scheme
used to number terminal points or connections on relays, components, etc..
I'm sure there is similar logic applied to the colours (oops gave myself
away,eh) used in the wiring of which the most obvious is that a lead
connected directly to ground is always brown.

I've done a fair bit of snooping around on the net but I must not be
searching on the right word gouping. The info would be very handy to help
diagnose an electrical problem for a car that you don't have the electrical
diagram handy, or they would also supply clues to decipher the interior of
many components for which it is impossible to get schematics. This patience
has enabled me to repair a number of devices for peanuts in relation to
their dealer cost.

I'm sure it is a common strategy that was used by many, eg. Volvo appears
to have the same logic in their wiring, but I would guess that this system
originated at Bosch since they are the largest supplier throughout Europe.

I have been able to pick out a lot of the patterns and given them my own
terms but would love to know what the original designations are supposed to
be.

If anyone knows or can point me in a direction....
I'll cyber you a beer on me
