What strange times we live in ... cases in point:

1) A year ago, I'm driving a FWD 5000 with an automatic and have an '85 4000
in the driveway that I don't know what to do with; today, I have both an '89
200q and an '85 Ur-Q, and the 4000 is well on its way to becoming a racecar.
(I also had some money in the bank back then but that's another matter...)

2) PDQSHIP is sold and its replacement has only two doors and a "Dr.
Doolittle" (push-me/pull-you) suspension!

3) Thompson Smith, one of many self-appointed keepers of the Ur-Q flame,
replaces it with a Quantum Synchro!

What's next?  Unka Bart without an opinion?  Bob Meyers with sled cats
instead of dogs?  Dave Head paying list price for parts at the local dealer?
Dan Simoes' '84 4kq running reliably?  ;^)

(BTW, I too almost bought a Quantum Synchro Wagon a few weeks ago: 'twas an
'87 with 95k on it for $1900 ... I had a staff meeting that morning and by
the time I could leave the office to check it out, it was already sold to
someone else.  I did talk the seller into letting me take it for a brief
test-drive just so I could see how these cars drove ... not too bad although
it could use more power and the GTi wheels need to go).
