Wiper system shorted

With the assistance of you, the helpful members of this list, I've been 
following up on my recent '91 Coupe Q electrical problems.

I've isolated the fault to the point where pulling the connector on 
the front wiper motor removes the short and thankfully restores signal 
lights and a cooling fan again.

As far as I can see, both the front and rear wipers are parked, not 
energized, and not frozen - curious to me that there would be a dead 
short under these circumstances, isn't it?

Also, where is the best source for electrical schematics - Carlsen? I 
bought the shop manual from local VA dealer for a king's ransom a while 
back. I'd rather not get hosed again.
