5000 drivers door

This one has me stumped. The drivers door on my 86 5000cst seems to 
"bounce" when shut lightly.  It will close with a thud when pushed 
shut.  The lock mechanism seems to be fine.  I remember this happening 
to my Mothers 5000 also, but cannot remember what the dealer did to fix 
it.  Could it be the nylon ring on the strike post, or does something 
else need adjusting?  All the other doors close with the usual thud, 
and no problems.
