And, given the complexity of the oil pressure warning system on the ur-quattro, 
a simple and reassuring gauge would have been a nice feature.  In place of the 
vertical LED bars for the battery voltage, perhaps, whose turning red for "low 
voltage" is a little late as a warning - by that time, the digital dash has 
gone off to sulk.
 
I've always thought the quadrant gauge fitted to Daimler-Benzs a very 
professional instrument.  Not obtrusive, and visible at a glance should you 
need it.
