I believe I fixed my leaking thermo switch problem and it wasn't the switch...
The coolant neck on the MC engine has a slightly different angle than the one
fitted to the WX engine and my leak was at the upper radiator hose/coolant neck
joint. With the new mechanics mirror I was able to spot it. My remedy was to 
slide the hose further down onto the neck and I double clamped the hose. No
leaks so far...

As for changing these, it's pretty easy, big adjustable wrench to get it off and
on. Cold engine is better than a warm engine and if you are quick you won't
loose too much coolant.
