Sorry guys,

Remember Indians Jones? The guy with the wip? That is the way a car wash
responds to lights mounted on top of a bumper. YeeHa!

It isn't about bolts vs mollies of steel support underneath or composite
bumpers.

The spinning sponges wip around and will grab something as big as a light
sitting there. And roof racks and antennas etc. Why do you think they warn
about none OEM stuff on your car.

I had a very solid mount I made for the Xr and Hella 500s. They were mounted
snuggly against the front bumper, not even on top so they should have been less
vulnerable.

When the car came out the lights were busted. NOT the MOUNTING. Remember we
are buying ABS plastic or whatever housings with these Hellas. The housings
broke, not my mounting. They were ripped off at the bottom. My brackets were
fine. The bottom of the light was still bolted on! The lamp housing was pulled
off and broken at the base.

I was just giving a little friendly warning to those who may get some XLs or
fogs or whatever. Most folks wouldn't think of it first.

Do what you will, but as long as the lights are plastic I'm not goin' in there
again.

I haven't tried the 5k/XL combo in a wash. Why don't one of you?
